- Crisis Intervention:
Hotline Service: enquiry on Employment Ordinance & Immigration Rules; Employment Counselling & Emotional Support
Referrals of temporary shelter, professional lawyer & doctor
Mental Health Service: assessment on depressive symptoms, stress management course & referrals of psychiatric services
- Social Inclusion:
Language Programmes e.g. Cantonese, English, Mandarin & Chinese Writing courses
Orientation Seminar: to understand the work expectation, the Chinese culture & living habits of the Chinese employers
“Smart Helpers” Thematic Seminars on Labour Protection, Women’s Health & Occupational Health
- Self Help Groups for Foreign Domestic Helpers:
Organize the FDHs with the same background (same nationality & marital status) into self-help groups
Release stress arising from work & transient migration
Cultivate mutual support for solving the personal & adjustment problems
- Social Participation:
Mobilize the FDHs to concern the relevant social policies in both sending & receiving countries, to act collectively for the change of the disadvantageous social situation
Areas of Concern: FDHs’ Importation Policy, Minimum Allowable Wage (MAW), Working & Living Conditions of FDHs, Insurance & Labour Protection of FDHs, etc.
